Back after 5 years based in Jerusalem we explore his time there and discuss Ireland, his time spent with real nomads in Mongolia, Nunavut (the Inuit in Northen Canada), and recently the Bedouin of Israel’s Negev Desert. He say's on his website, "If we learnt from Indigenous Peoples instead of greedily exploiting their lands and ignoring their wisdom, the entire planet would be healthier and all of our species would be happier and wiser. We can but try." Listen in and enjoy the show

Earth Boots feat. Dr Peter Carey MBE
December 05, 2010 08:32 AM PST

Talking to Peter Carey about how a chance conversation in a pub 20 years ago changed his life and for thousands of disabled and underprivileged people in South East Asia.
It's the story of the Cambodia Trust and it's beginnings in a small surgery in Phnom Penh, Cambodia just as the peace began to break out in a country torn by conflict for years. It's the realisation of the ambitions of people all around the region who have striven to change the conditions for disabled people in countries where the average wage can be less than £1 a day.
It's a story of hope and how so little can mean so much!

In conversation with Juliet Russell about her passion for her choir, Vocal Explosion and the divine music that has emerged from her life's journey. Juliet is a powerhouse and her tremendous energy has created an amazing repertoire of music that speaks in many voices and with a language that is always her own.

Juliet has created the phonetic language that is used in the a capella songs she composes. Words like ‘dvoolee’ or ‘majumba’ are used in haunting songs that conjure up powerful feelings that are highly evocative and spiritual, helping singers to bypass the brain and to sing from the heart. This is inspired music that kicks, upbeat rhythms with emotive, multiple harmonies from Eastern Europe to South Africa.

Juliet’s unique sound has been performed from Dubai to Delhi to New York and heard by over 30,000 people across the world. Her compositions have been described as “blissed out a capella” by THE INDEPENDENT and her own voice as ” Brilliantly haunting “ by The Stage.
